After completing medical school in Cuba, Dr. Marie-Ange began practicing medicine in Haiti before moving to Spain to complete her masters before doing the same. As such, she was already an experienced doctor before deciding to pursue residency in the US. Despite her having graduated medical school a while back, she was still able to go through the residency process as an older IMG while being an active mother and wife!

Unfortunately, due to her facing challenges such as limited guidance and lack of familiarity with the US education system, Dr. Marie-Angle failed her step 1 exam the first time, but she didn’t let that stop her!
