ERAS Is Not the Match. Register for NRMP.
She completed every interview. And she was never registered for the Match.
I have seen this happen more than once. It is the phone call nobody forgets.
How it happens
Applications go out in September. Interviews run through December. Rank lists open, and the login does not exist. Why? Because ERAS and NRMP are two completely separate platforms. Being on ERAS does not put you in the Match.
This error has nothing to do with how good a doctor you are. It is pure logistics. And logistics errors do not send warnings. They quietly end your season in February.
Three moves to make this week
Register at nrmp.org the day registration opens, around August. Do not wait until late in the cycle.
Copy your NRMP ID into ERAS and double-check it.
Verify your ECFMG ID against the official portal, not from memory, while you are in there.
One more: if you are an MD or international graduate, skip the AOA and NBOME fields entirely. Those are for D.O. applicants only, and filling them in creates confusion in your file.
Build a logistics calendar
Put every registration, payment, and document deadline in one calendar with reminders. The applicants who match are not only the strongest candidates. They are the ones who never miss a step.
