What's the first change to be aware of?
The ERAS application previously allowed an unlimited number of experiences. For next year, the system will be restricting applications to 10 experiences. To adapt, focus on including only relevant experiences that align with your desired specialty. This approach, taught in the IMG Roadmap course, enhances your application's impact.
How important is it to select meaningful experiences?
The new myERAS system will let you highlight your top three most meaningful experiences. This selection gives you an opportunity to showcase lessons learned beyond what's explicitly evident in your application; in your own words. Use concise and impactful language to outline the unique insights gained and their professional influence. Our course has always focused on preparing you to craft compelling narratives!
How will the information you provide about your experiences change?
The revamped system will collect more descriptive information about experiences, such as position frequency and time frames. This enhancement helps program directors gain a deeper understanding of each experience's context and significance.

The ultimate goal is to enable program directors to find their ideal candidates more effectively. By creating dynamic and holistic descriptions of your qualifications and experiences, you can demonstrate a strong fit with each program's preferences. The IMG Roadmap course especially emphasizes self-reflection to identify your strengths and effectively communicate how you align with program expectations.
